Sam Stone (Danny DeVito) is contemplating bumping off his rich (Plump) wife Barbara (Bette Midler) and her little dog too.

Sandy Kessler [(Helen Slater) “The secret of My Success” (1987)] wants revenge on Sam Stone for stealing her idea of a spandex mini-skirt. Therefore Sandy and her husband Ken (Judge Reinhold) kidnap Mrs. Stone.

Police Commissioner Benton (William G. Schilling) gets the URGE. Carol played by the late Anita Morris “Radioland Murders” (1994) wants to extricate Sam from the ransom. Bill Pullman “Sibling Rivalry” (1990) has to do the deed. Bill Pullman plays a real dufus and the police contemplate just shooting him.

Worth repeated viewing.

ファッション業界で名を知られる実業家サムは、財産家の女房バーバラに嫌気がさす。バーバラの殺害計画を愛人キャロルに話したサムは家へ戻るが、バーバラの姿がない。何とバーバラは、誘拐されてしまっていたのだ！バーバラを誘拐したのは、サムにデザインのアイディアを盗まれたケンとサンディの若夫婦。サンディのアイディアでサムが儲けた分を取り戻そうとしている２人は、バーバラを殺すつもりなど全くない。ところが、大嫌いな女房が他人の手によって殺されると考えたサムは、１人祝杯を挙げて大喜び。また、キャロルがバーバラ殺人の現場をこっそりビデオ撮影してサムを脅迫しようと企んだことから、事件はもっとややこしくなっていく。・・・

背が低くてセコイイメージのあるダニー・デビート。のっけから最後まで「これでもかー！」と暴れまくるパワフルなベット・ミドラー。この２人が夫婦役ということで、期待しない訳には参りません。誘拐犯からのバーバラの身代金をサムが値切ったり、キャロルの企みがあらぬ方向へ向かってしまったり、予想のつかないストーリー展開に、爆笑の連続でした。中でも、それなりに誘拐生活？を有意義に過ごしてしまうバーバラにはもう脱帽。あと、キャロルのマヌケな恋人アールを、『インデペンデンス・デイ』では若き大統領役だったビル・プルマンが演じています。

Best film ever made!
"Top secret" I saw for the first time in -84 (it was made then) and it hit me harder than any other movie I have ever seen! I laid on the floor most of the film screaming in "pain" as my stomach hurt from all the laughter! I have seen the film countless times and it still is my favorite! A classic in other words. Along with the "Airplane" movies "Top secret" was a door opener in to a new landscape of humor (at least for me), as much of the film is about playing with words. But the film also takes you to the edges in termes of bringing you the absolute unexpected. Recomended? Do I need to say it. ORDER NOW!!!

Every thing you ever wanted to know about air travel
Leslie Nielsen has been around for a long time and in many leads before striking out on a road to comedy. This is but one story. However it was a turning point for him from leading man in "Forbidden Planet” (1956), to serious doctor in” Airplane!” (1980), to Field Guide in "National Geographic's “The Savage Garden” with Leslie Nielsen (1997)

Airplane has a great cast including Robert Stack (playing himself), Lloyd Bridges (glub glub), and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (just as defensive as ever).

This movie is unique. It is the first; I have seen displaying one liners with serious intent. It was not just slapstick or Abbot and Costello. This particular film uses the “Airport” movies as the basis of most of its humor.

It worked well enough for sequels and other films to be made in the new genre. I keep it with the Leslie Nielsen Collection.

Cry　Baby！
前からすごく見たくて買った作品です。どこのレンタルにも
なくて！でも、買って良かったです。内容はJohnny演じる
Cry　Babyが歌って踊って恋して捕まって…というコメディです。
音楽も、あたしたちにはあまり浸透してないロカビリー（？）
みたいなものなので全然古臭くないです。難を言えば字幕がないので

最初は困惑しますが、２～３回みてると字幕なんかなくても意味が
分かってきます。単純なストーリーなので！とにかく音楽もいいし
面白いので買って見るべき！

駆け出し
作品によって違う顔をみせてくれるDeppの、まだ駆け出しの映画。
ＴＶドラマ、21JumpStreetのHansonの役をひきずってる部分が一部みられるが、それもまたよし。
若々しいDepp扮する不良少年、通称Cry Baby, Wade Walkerと優等生のAlisonとの、ロミオとジュリエットもどきのどたばた恋愛映画。
・・・だが、元気をくれる楽しさがある。

Cry babyだが、もろコメディ
Johnny DeppがＴＶアイドルスターのイメージを払拭するために、不良青年役に挑戦したミュージカル青春コメディ映画。ミュージカルといっても、ダンスがメインではないが、リーゼント頭のJohnnyが決してうまいとはいえないダンスをわずかながらに披露している。

ストーリーは、同じハイスクールに通う、上流階級のお嬢様と不良少年のJohnnyが恋におち、それが上流階級族とJohnny達の争いの発端となる。最初から最後までコメディ一色で、とにかくJohnnyの〔吹き替えだが〕歌ったり踊ったりする姿は、他の出演作では見られないので、かなり貴重。ミュージシャンのIggy Popも出演している。
