"Till There Was You"
The scope of this musical is so overwhelming I hardly know where to begin.

We start on a train car of traveling salesmen circa 1912. They are discussing the trouble they have looking creditable after each community they visit was visited by an unscrupulous salesman Professor Harold Hill (Robert Preston). As they approach Iowa they proclaim that people in Iowa are not so gullible and at least here Harold Hill does not have a chance.

“Gentlemen you intrigue me” as the “professor” stands up to take the challenge.

Robert Preston makes such a likable scoundrel that you find your self routing for him. Brought more to life by the music of Composer Meredith Willson we see a story where Harold Hill just may get caught in his own trap, "Till There Was You"

Aside from the music and a great tale that are many fine actors in this rendition and you will find yourself quoting them often. One of my favorite quotes is when Eulalie Mackechnie Shinn (Hermione Gingold) is returning a copy of Balzac to the library and says “It’s a smutty book”.

ウキウキしちゃいます。
Ally　Mcbealでおなじみの作品です。
ずっと見たかったので、やっと手に入って
すっごい嬉しいです。
Allyでおなじみの曲がたくさんあるし、
聞き取りやすい英語なので、英語が苦手でも
十分に楽しめる作品です。
今見ると古くさいなーって思うセットだけど、
ストリーは今見ても全然古くないです。
見るだけで笑顔になれること間違いなし！

アリーがお気に入りなのも納得です。

Almost the Same...
Jackie Cassidy(Keely Christian)と其の女友達たちは浜辺でビーチバレーを楽しんだ日の夜にパジャマ・パーティーを開く。だが彼女たちの知らないところでは既にピザ屋の少女(Marta Kober)等が路上で殺害されており…。タイトル上はシリーズ第3作目となる本作ですが、バスケットボールがビーチバレーに変わり、パーティーの完全な外部者だったドリル殺人鬼が否になっている等の数点を除けば実質的にはオリジナル版のリメイク的作品です。少女が自らガラスに飛び込んで｢自殺｣したり、殺人鬼が浴槽にバイブレーターを放り込んで被害者を｢感電死｣させたりする不自然なシーンの存在は気になりますが、比較的地味なヒロインKeely Christianの魅力を引き出そうとする製作者サイドの努力は十分に実っています。

A slasher with gusto
Can you believe this movie is Francis Ford Coppola, and produced by Roger Corman? Nether can the viewer. I am not sure how it made it to film. However it has collector value.

Dementia 13 is not a bad movie; it is a little dark in more ways than one. The just is nothing significant about it other than a few hacker scenes.

We find our self in a Castle with a murderer who is bumping every one off. The question is “who done it?”
Was it Lizzie Borden or Jeffery Dalmer?
Maybe it was mommy?
Or the mad doctor?
Who knows?
This movie makes a good addition to slasher movies and it is not as mindless as most.

More real than reality it's self
There are several overlaying plans and plots with many independent scenes from the era (1962). Is it wiser to go off to school or stay local? What are the consequences of your intent and then final action on friends and loved ones.
Yep everyone sees themselves in this movie. I have to admit I do also. That is see all the others as of courses I am above that sort of thing. This is one of the closest depictions of life with out me having to pull out the 8mm and filming. I spent some time in L.A. around the era and moved to Texas to find that distance changes something's but not that way of life. While in Vietnam I was even able to exchange the same urban legends with people from different part of the US.
I am more surprised that George Locus could capture this so well. I am also amazed at the crew they were able to assemble for this film. Most of them went off to do bigger and better parts and it is fun to watch this film in hind sight. Everyone look so young. I really never noticed Harrison Ford until Star Wars.
Getting away from memory lane, the film is so smooth that you forgot that you are watching a movie and the actors do not overwhelm the characters that they play.
Starting out you notice a song or two and think where was I. Then a few more songs and you soon are more rapped up in the music than the story. Having Wolfman Jack there added a touch of reality. I can not put my finger on it but there was something more than formula in this particular movie.
I am not that sensitive but the ending hits you hard as you realize it will never be the same. This is true of any group in any era. I can almost forget that.
By the way the original T-bird styling is back. All in all this is one film that will not collect dust.

１９６２年、カリフォルニア北部の小さな田舎町を舞台に、ハイスクールを卒業し東部の大学へ出発する若者たちの、最後の一夜を描いた青春映画の傑作。カートとスティーヴは明日、東部の大学へ出発する。最後の夜を楽しく過ごそうと、後輩のテリーと先輩のジョンを誘い町に繰り出す。スティーヴとカートの妹ローリーは恋仲だけれど、なかなか一線を越えられない関係にスティーヴはイライラ。テリーはスティーヴから借りた58年型シボレーでガールハントにチャレンジ、可愛い女の子デビーをGETするが、マセた彼女を相手に四苦八苦。ドラッグレースのチャンピオンで女の子の憧れの的であるジョンがGETしたキャロルは、まだ１３才の女の子。カートは偶然見かけた白いサンダーバードに乗るブロンド美人に一目ぼれ。町を彼女を求めて走り回る。こうして彼らの短くもエキセントリックな一夜は更けてゆく。・・・
　ドライヴインに次々に集まるカスタム・カー。ローラースケートを履いてハンバーガーとコークを運ぶ女の子たち。ボリュームいっぱいに流れる『Rock Around The Crock』。１９６０年代の軽快な雰囲気がイイです。やっぱりアメリカの若者はみんな車持ってんのねー。いい車を走らせれば、それだけナイスな異性にめぐりあえるってことなのか！？カートのシトロエン、スティーヴのシボレー、ジョンのデュース・クーペなど、思い切って奮発したんだろうなーと思わせる車ばっかり。その中でテリーのスクーターだけが、まだまだガキって感じで微笑ましいです。
ガールハントで13才のお子様を拾ってしまったり、暴走族の仲間に入らされたり、酒を買おうと四苦八苦したり、マセた女の子にせまられたりと、カート達のエピソードが何ともおかしい。

『陽のあたる教室』で今やすっかりベテランになったリチャード・ドレイファスですが、何とこの作品には、あのハリソン・フォードも出演しています。
１９６０年代に青春を過ごされた方は懐かしいだろうし、若い世代でも十分楽しめる作品です。

歌おう ベィビ〜シッタ〜ブル〜ス♪
大好きなコメディー映画の一つ(ちなみに私が観たのは日本語字幕版です)。
楽しみにしていたデートがオジャンになり、ベビーシッターをするはめになるクリス。
退屈な週末の夜を過ごさなければならないことを覚悟してた矢先に、親友から「家出をしてしまったけどお金がないので迎えに来て欲しい」とのSOS電話が入り・・・・
と、ここからベビーシッター先の悪ガキたちとつるんでの大冒険の始まりになります。
スリルあり、歌あり、笑いあり、で、単純明快に楽しめるアメリカンアドベンチャーコメディー。
なぜこの映画が日本でDVD化されないのかが不思議でなりません。
劇中で歌われる「ベビーシッターブルース」も最高。
サントラ盤も欲しくなります。
