Ideas on the Story Plus the Story
This is a pretty good book for people who want to know more about Alice in Wonderland and Lewis Carroll. I found it easy to read the notes plus the story at the same time. There are lots of facts and information that you learn, plus you can have fun with the original story and the pictures are pretty cool.

Can't be too definitive
Not knowing what you do not know it tells you everything. This book appears to be stand alone logic and fun on the surface. Some may even think it is a children's book. If so why all the courses and scholarly writings on the story?
Some things are self evident as being so short that you can touch your toes. Others may take some time as the reason hatters are mad is the process includes mercury so even if it was directed at a particular person or not hatters are mad. Still when was the last time you used a bathing machine? Knowing some of information can enhance the enjoyment of reading the story.
You get the original illustrations to boot. So when you are finished perusing this book it can be used as a coffee table conversation book.

コアなアリス(ルイス・キャロル)マニアには必携の一冊です。
邦訳もでていますが、できればこの英語版で。

大人も子どもも楽しめる一冊
『不思議の国のアリス』といえばディズニーがアニメ化したことで有名です。おそらくアニメで見た人は登場人物のユニークさとコミックさ、またストーリーの面白さを記憶している事と思います。しかし原文で読むアリスは、特にガードナー版の物はその注釈がほぼ定説になるほど認められたものであり、読者にとってはありがたい一冊となっている。

ルイス・キャロルは数学者であり、数学者らしい正確な表現さらに彼の表現の巧みさというのは原文でしか味わえないものだと思います。
本当に彼の文体を楽しむには文法力、注意深さそしてセンスが必要だと思います。私も今大学の授業でこの作品を読んでいて本当に面白くそして時には、作品の奥深さをかみしめながら楽しく読んでいます。

子どもにはストーリーの面白さ、大人にはストーリーもさることながら原文で読むことの楽しさを伝えてくれる一冊だと思います。

ずっと探していて
やっと見つけました！昔、NHKで放送されていたのはこのアリスです！
レビューの数の多さからみてもこの作品のDVD化を待ち望んでいた方々
は多かったみたいですね。それほど出来もよくて絵も最高にきれいだった
のを覚えています。アリスの実写といえば1番にこの作品を思い浮かべる
人も多いのではないでしょうか？海外だけではなく日本でもかなり人気の
高い作品なので、是非日本でも再生可能なDVDを発売してほしいです。
もちろん吹き替え付きで。

アメコミ風アリス
ラッカムのアリスはテニエルに比べるとちょっとおとなっぽいのかな？と思います。ちょっと淡めの色使いがいいです。個人的には。
私はラッカムの描くかえるがとっても気に入っています。めっちゃかわいい！他の動物たちもいいですよ。もちろん。 私はまた非常に読むことを推薦する--The Fates by Tino Georgiou!

すてきな朗読
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Classic Literature With Classical Music. Junior Classics)，出版社: Naxos Audio Books; Abridged版 (1997/07)，ASIN: 9626341378 は，CD 2枚組み合計で，２時間２２分の朗読CDです。朗読は，女優の Fiona Shaw。効果音が少し入っていますが，ほとんど朗読のみです。
録音の音が小さめですので，再生するときは大きくする必要があります。
CDに小冊子が入っていますが，目次と挿絵，カタログ程度の内容です。

お子様への読み聞かせ、特にベッドタイム・リーディングにお薦めです。
時々長めの単語も出てきますが、出てくる動詞はさほど難しいものではないので、ある程度の年齢になれば、子供でも独力で読むことができます。
我が家の子供は、この本に関しては、自分で読めるにもかかわらず、
今でも、寝る前にお父さんに読んでもらっています。

This should not be your first introduction to Alice
An occasional review will hit on this point. Alice in Wonderland is no more children's book than, "The Lord of the Rings".

The reason this five star book gets less stars occasionally is not because of its contents or purpose; it is because of either being mistaken for a kids book, in which case one wonders why it is forces on kids, or it is so dated that even the reader thinks it is gobbledygook.

You will find the book full of references to items of the time and play on words of the time.

If you fall into either of these categories then you need to first purchase "The Annotated Alice: The Definitive Edition"; this will clear this understandable confusion.

I will not go through the story, as that is why you are buying this book. However I will say that it is a classic and should be part of everyone's cultural education.

When you make it through this book and enjoy it the next challenge should be "Alice's Abenteuer Im Wunderland” German Translation.

If you are also interested in sci-fi then try to get a copy of "Mimsy Were the Borogoves" by Henry Kuttner.

一気に深いアリス好きに♪
私はアリスが好きと言っても、ディズニーのアリス位しか知らないで最近やっと原作をちゃんと読んだ所でした。でもアリスの世界が大好きで、もっと詳しく知りたいと思いこの本を読んで一気に知識が増えました☆アリスについて物語位しか知らない人は、読めばきっと深いアリスのファンになれると思います!アリスが誕生する前からその後まで、ルイスキャロルの歩みが読みやすく学べます。

普通のアリスの本ではありません
大きさは縦が17㌢横が12㌢と、さほど大きくはありませんが、中身はすごいです。
アリスの本が書かれた時代の事や、作者ルイスキャロルの故郷の風景、
ルイスキャロルが若い頃に描いた絵など、ルイスキャロルを中心としてこの本は成り立っています。
もちろんアリスの挿絵も沢山載っていますし、全てカラーで珍しいものも多くあります。
普通の本のようにアリスのお話しが載っているわけではなく、生い立ちの話しや写真や絵が中心であるので、アリス辞典、あるいはアリス資料集とも言えるでしょう。

楽しく読めます
アリス初心者でも、この本は楽しめるでしょう。というのも、全ページにイラストや写真（カラーのものはカラーで）が載っているからです。ルイス・キャロルの撮った写真、その時代の建築物の絵、美術画、風刺画など、当時の様子を想像しながら読むことが出来ます。
この本を読んでから、もう一度「不思議の国のアリス」を読みたくなる、そんな本です。
