One of the funniest films ever!
Muriel's wedding is one of the best black comedies I have ever seen. It pretends to be light and frothy while exploring real issues and human dynamics. This film launched Toni Collette in America and also got PJ Hogan the role of director for My Best Friends Wedding. It is a thinking persons comedy, but even for those that don't get into black comedy it is still full of genuine belly laughs.

この映画はオーストラリアのもので、女の友情を描いたものです。ミュリエルは可愛くない女の子で、学生時代の同級生からはけむたがられる存在でしたが、そんな彼女が親友をつくり変わっていくようすが描かれています。この映画ではアバの曲が効果的に使われていき最後のシーンでも思わず笑顔になってしまします。友情っていいなと思わせてくれる映画です。
